Last week I attended a Council of Christian Education in Schools seminar as part of my training to start teaching Christian Religious Education at Mernda Primary School.
At the event we were reminded that CCES is the largest mission organisation in Victoria with 100s of teachers working in schools each week among 1000s of mostly non-church kids. As more Christians send their children to private schools the percentage of kids in these classes who do not have a church background or who don't already know about Jesus is diminishing.
Meanwhile a State Government review of legislation could put this under threat for more details check out the CCES response or read on for my write up on the situation using the CCES resources.
